Later start time

should we start school later? These last few weeks of school have been shortened because of snow days and my only concern is that the districts going to add days to the end of the year. With the late start and early dismissal on wednesday and the snow day today, I've been thinking, would it be beneficial to start later? Above is a video that analyzes all of the factors. The pros of starting late include getting to sleep in and actually wake up before going to school. I believe that our performance and engagement would increase if we were awake. One con is that the end time would most likely be later. Which cuts into the time we could spend studying at night, making us stay up later and then sleep around the amount of time. Another con of starting later is that student athletes will get home really late into the evening. If school were to start an hour or two later and end at 3 or 4, once you add practice, it would be 6 before you even leave school to go home. Most of your e...

Van Houtte Farm

One of my favorite places to visit during the summer is Van Houtte farms. When you drive down romeo plank road, the first thing you see are flowers. All you have to do is pay for a glass jar. Then they give you clippers and you can start picking! They are open from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm and in my opinion, it's best to go in the afternoon. When the sun is shining brightly :) Below is a video of a gardener who discovered the farm, she walks you through it! (You can skip a little bit of the beginning). My favorite flowers are the ones that look like pompoms, but they take up most of the jar. So if you want a variety; it would be best to hold back on them. I have only visited during the summer but I'm sure it's just as beautiful in the fall. They have many pictures on their website of pumpkins.
