Blogging has served as an oppurtunity to express how I'm feeling through various prompts. Typically, the more stressed I was during the period in which a blog was due, the more miscallaneous it was. When looking back, this would include; the camera roll, rating random inventions, Bot or not and Van houtte farms. As I've written more, my personality has begun to shine through a little bit. I'm still stuck on being straight forward and concise. Otherwise it doesn't make it past the draft process. I'll explain the draft process, it consists of writing 100-150 words about 2-3 different topics and picking which sounds the best. My defintion of "the best" meant that the blog was easy to understand and concise. _________________________________________________________________________________________________ _________________________________________________________________________________________________ I'm not sure what an expected or acceptable response ...

___________________________________________________________________________________________________ revision process: while writing, I was listening to Menuet in G Minor (trans. W. Kempff). ___________________________________________________________________________________________________ I originally wrote, "I am full of worry, of the sun disintegrating before my eyes" which was to say that I am anxious about things that are unlikely to happen. As it would be unlikely for me to see the sun explode because if it did, we'd all probably just die. There wouldn't be much to witness. Though I don't actually know, because it hasn't happened yet. I decided to change it to, "my life flashing before my eyes" , because it's a common phrase and it's easier for the reader to process. I decided to keep the, "So I'll hold my hands up high, I will piece it back together as it once was a star" sentence- despite it referencing the su...

The park is nice but there aren't many trees, so I wouldn't reccommend going on a sunny day. 4.) This photo was taken at Elk Park in Royal Oak. There is a path that leads you to Normandy Oaks, which has a little splash pad. As well as, a pond with a wooden bridge. I like to walk across the bridge and watch the ducklings swim by. 3.)Robinwood park is less than a mile from my home and so I've walked there numerous times. I love this park because it has hundreds of trees (shade!!) and a long path that goes around the entire park which takes you down a hill (very fun when riding a bike) AND walks me through memory lane. When I first rode on the trail, I fell off my bike when the side walk slanted. (I was 7). The girl in the picture is my sister (I know we don't look alike), on ...

2020. rumors had spread that we might get school off. There was a virus and no vaccine. I was walking home from the bus stop, secretly hoping school would be canceled. For at least a week. I was burnt out and just wanted a break. Not too long after, they established that we would have virtual school. The following year, it evolved into zoom calls. Which I enjoyed much more than in person school. I had freedom to do what I enjoyed and classes were more self paced, so I could complete my work and move on with my day, which contrasts with in person (busy work). _______________________________________________________________________________________________ During the pandemic I tried to become an a⃣   r⃣   t⃣   i⃣   s⃣   t⃣.... There were many viral photos and videos of pieces being produced to distract us from this isolation and hopefully, bring some joy. Which is what inspired me to start creating. I had nothing better to do because of travel restrictions and school being canceled f...

Blue light

Image
Blue light emitted from devices has proven to be bad for our health time and time again. Blue light has a short wavelength and much energy, so it is more stimulating for our brains. Our brain confuses this with daylight, making it difficult to sleep. IpRG cells in our eyes are sensitive to this light. These cells send signals to the suprachiasmatic nucleus (SCN) in our brain. They regulate our circadian rhythm. The circadian rhythm regulates the sleep cycle and influences various functions like hormone production, metabolism, etc. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Essentially, the SCN receives signals from ipRG cells and misinterprets them as daylight. To put it simply, it tells our body when to feel awake vs. sleepy. This can interfere with the production of melatonin, a hormone that ...

Is genetically modifying traits moral?

Some argue that it is immoral as it is not traditional and not developed enough to avoid mutations (which are inevitable at this point). Others argue that the development would be beneficial because the parents could choose whether their kids have specfic traits and potentially, better quality of life if they are considered more desirable (features that make an individual conventionally attractive). While beauty is subjective, pretty privilege is very much a thing. However, the question isn't who is right. It's, is genetically modifying traits moral? ________________________________________________________________________________________________ Objectification ________________________________________________________________________________________________ Modifying genes of your child so they have better eye sight, color or are taller is like modifying your car or improving the interior of your home. The difference is that the "thing" you're modifying is a huma...
