ᗩᖇT

2020. rumors had spread that we might get school off. There was a virus and no vaccine. I was walking home from the bus stop, secretly hoping school would be canceled. For at least a week. I was burnt out and just wanted a break. Not too long after, they established that we would have virtual school. The following year, it evolved into zoom calls. Which I enjoyed much more than in person school. I had freedom to do what I enjoyed and classes were more self paced, so I could complete my work and move on with my day, which contrasts with in person (busy work). _______________________________________________________________________________________________ During the pandemic I tried to become an a⃣   r⃣   t⃣   i⃣   s⃣   t⃣.... There were many viral photos and videos of pieces being produced to distract us from this isolation and hopefully, bring some joy. Which is what inspired me to start creating. I had nothing better to do because of travel restrictions and school being canceled for two weeks-which turned into 2 years. I remember drawing "portraits" almost everyday and my sister being brutally honest about what they looked like. Which was "just the truth" (but I would have preferred to not know the truth). _______________________________________________________________________________________________ here are two examples ... _______________________________________________________________________________________________ -video of celebrities singing that circulated
and

- art created during the pandemic^^^^ ______________________________________________________________________________________________________ As I worked towards improving, I learned that art is subjective. Which could've been one of two things ______________________________________________________________________________________________________ 1.) Me reassuring myself that my art wasn't absolute trash ______________________________________________________________________________________________________ 2.) Maturing and realizing that not everything you create has to be "perfect" (progress>>>>perfection) _______________________________________________________________________________________________ ___ hot take: van goghs paintings were ꩇׁׅ݊ꪱׁׅժׁׅ݊ ...... it looks as if a child created it... but hey! that's just my unpopular take and besides, look how famous he became for his work. So keep working and express yourself however you want because not everyones going to like it. But I'm sure someone will. (don't quote me on that if you get rejected....𝒶𝓇𝓉 𝒾𝓈 𝓈𝓊𝒷𝒿𝑒𝒸𝓉𝒾𝓋𝑒!! ) Look at this and tell me an 8 year old couldn't recreate it. It's like one of those, "I could've created that", but you didn't, moments.
_______________________________________________________________________________________________ My point is that there are many different art styles. Not every piece is created in hopes of it looking like the most realistic piece on earth. Art is used to express emotions or a message. Not trick your brain into thinking it's the real thing. Unless the artist was going for realism. _______________________________________________________________________________________________ Anyways, I wanted to display some of my ᗩᖇT from the pandemic,
Above are some of my paintings. There's not much to analyze because honestly, I was trying to stay productive during the pandemic. It made me very anxious and I needed an outlet, so I adopted a new hobby! I still paint and draw- maybe my next post will consist of drawings.
